Blephs: your secret to remaining youthful
Blepharoplasty is designed to remove sagging skin and muscle from the eyelids, removing excess far bulges to get rid of those “bags” we all know and hate.
You could be the perfect candidate if you have:
- droopy eyelids
- Unsightly under-eye bags
- Fatty deposits causing puffy eyelids
- excess skin and fine wrinkles on the lower lid
- impaired vision due to drooping upper lid folds
- an ageing appearance around your eyes
As we age, the eyelids can develop excess skin that droops over the upper eyelids or falls loosely under the lower eyelids making us appear fatigued and older than necessary. Some of the fatty tissue behind the eyelids can also bulge out, creating the appearance of ‘bags’ under the eyes. Whilst performing the blepharoplasty, our surgeons can also tighten the muscles and supporting structures of the eyelids to create a stronger and less tired appearance.
This aesthetic surgical operation is often performed under ‘twilight’ sedation, so you do not have to go under a general anesthetic. It involves the eyelid structure and the surrounding soft tissue only, meaning there is no interference whatsoever with the muscles or organs of the eye itself.
You may experience some bruising and swelling, however that should subsided within a week or so. Your stitches can be removed between 4 and 7 days post-procedure. Contact lenses and make-up can be applied after about a week, glasses can be worn almost immediately.
