UltraShape
What is UltraShape and how does it
work?
The clinically-proven UltraShape procedure is the most
widely used non-invasive solution for fat reduction and
body contouring. It uses focused ultrasound to target and
reduce unwanted localized fat deposits, reduce body circumference
and improve body shape.
The UltraShape procedure is intended to help average to
modestly overweight men and women reduce localized fat deposits
around the abdomen, flanks (love handles), hips and thighs.
It offers a totally non-invasive, painless no downtime alternative
to patients seeking reduced circumference (a slimmer body)
and an improved body contour. UltraShape involves no incisions,
needles, injections, recovery time or maintenance treatments
whatsoever.
UltraShape is an ideal non-surgical procedure that enables
men and women to improve their figure, go down in clothing
size, and improve the shape in problem fatty areas that
regular diet and exercise usually don't get rid of.
Each patient follows a personalized program and undergoes
a recommended series of three treatments in order to maximize
results. Clinical studies have shown a measurable reduction
in body circumference in most patients, even after a single
treatment.
The series of treatments is performed in one-month intervals,
giving time for the body's natural metabolic processes to
safely clear away the destroyed fat cells. During these
intervals, patients can treat other areas of the body and
undergo other complementary procedures.
What results can I expect?
Clinical results show that in three treatments, patients
see an average of 4 cm reduction in circumference. Clinical
trials have shown an average of 2 cm reduction in circumference
even after a single treatment. A minimum of three treatments
is recommended to achieve maximum results. As with any non-invasive
procedure the results you see may differ from the clinical
trial results.
The Doctor will be happy to discuss this in detail with
you during a consultation.
Does the treatment hurt?
Patients usually report feeling light tingling or warmth
in the treated area.
What makes the UltraShape® procedure
unique?
Body contouring with the UltraShape delivers measurable,
long-lasting circumference reduction in target body areas,
and provides the following benefits:
Non-invasive - The procedure is totally non-invasive
and reduces the fat thickness and circumference of the treated
area with no incisions, cannulas, injections or needles.
Safe - The focused ultrasound causes a mechanical
(non-thermal) effect that selectively targets only fat tissue
without affecting the surrounding blood vessels, nerves
and connective tissue.
Effective - After three sessions, patients experience
an average of 4 cm reduction in body circumference. These
results have been proven in clinical studies and are demonstrated
in the tens of thousands of treatments performed worldwide.
The results you experience may vary.
Comfort - The vast majority of people who have undergone
the UltraShape body contouring procedure report no discomfort.
There is no anesthesia or sedation required. You simply
lie on the bed and the technician guides a handheld device
that delivers the ultrasound energy over your body.
What happens to the fat after the UltraShape
procedure?
During the UltraShape procedure, the fat cells are disrupted.
The fat cell content, primarily comprised of triglycerides,
is broken down and transported to the liver. The fat is
processed via the body's natural mechanisms and turns into
building blocks for energy.
What body areas are treated?
A multi-center controlled clinical trial has demonstrated
that the procedure is safe and effective for treating the
abdomen, outer thighs ("saddle bags"), and flanks
("love handles").
How long is the procedure?
Dr Bright and you will together identify the desired treatment
areas. The number of treatment areas and their size will
determine the duration of the treatment, which can last
between one to two hours.
How long will it take to see results?
After the UltraShape procedure, released contents of the
broken-down fat cells are naturally cleared by the body
over a 2-4 week period. Circumference and fat thickness
reduction is usually seen within the first 14 - 28 days
post treatment. Maximum results are seen about 28 days post
the final treatment.
Are there any side effects?
Extensive clinical trials and over 50,000 patient treatments
performed worldwide have demonstrated the excellent safety
profile of the UltraShape procedure.
Are there people for whom UltraShape is
not recommended?
UltraShape is aimed primarily at healthy people who are
not obese but would like to improve their body contour by
reducing local areas of fat from the abdomen, outer thighs,
or flanks. During the consultation session, Dr Bright will
assess if UltraShape is right for you.
