What is the first part of the face to age?
The first part of the face to droop is usually the eyelids and eyebrows. These may be corrected with an eyebrow lift and blepharoplasty.

How can I correct drooping eyebrows?
Botox will correct a minor droop of up to 5mm. Direct suturing under the eyebrow down to the deeper layers can correct up to 10mm but may increase wrinkling above the eyebrows. Temporal SMAS lift is suitable for up to a 10mm lift and gives a superior result. It is more complex than the above procedures and more expensive. It leaves no visible scars. The downtime is limited to the day of surgery. If there is too much loose skin the skin will need to be excised.

How can I correct an ageing mid-face?
The mid face is the area from the corner of the eye back to the ear, forward to the nasolabial fold and down the jawline.

SMAS sutures are mainly used to improve the nasolabial fold and lift the malar fat pad under the eyes.

An S-Lift removes excess skin to improve the nasolabial fold but has most benefit on the cheeks and jawline. It leaves a scar in front of the ear.

How can I correct an ageing neck?
Liposuction will remove excess fat and is sufficient for many people. SMAS suture from behind the ear will give a pleasing neck and jawline if there is not too much skin that needs to be removed. See Neck Rejuvenation

What does a full face lift involve?
Many people will have enough lax skin to benefit from a full lift. For this, the incision starts in the scalp above the ear, passes down in front of the ear and turns behind the ear to end in the scalp.

The full face lift tightens the muscles and removes excess skin. It is the most comprehensive of the procedures available for the face.
